Udaipur season by season

From Harsh's Udaipur travel guide.

September to March is the ideal window, and late September to November is genuinely the best — the monsoon has just topped up the lakes, the Aravallis are green, and the light is soft. In-season temperatures range from about 8°C on winter mornings to 42°C in the shoulder heat.

  • October–February: peak season, cool weather, full lakes, all attractions open

  • March: still pleasant, thinner crowds

  • April–June: hot (often above 40°C), and Pichola can shrink alarmingly in dry years

  • July–September (monsoon): hills go green, waterfalls appear at Kumbhalgarh, some road disruption possible
