Per-person Bundi trip costs from Delhi NCR for 2026 across budget, mid-range and premium plans, with train fares, fuel and toll estimates, ticket prices and stated assumptions.
Quick summary
Bundi is one of the cheaper heritage towns in Rajasthan once you are there: guesthouses in the old town are modest, the stepwells and cenotaph share one low-cost composite ticket, and the Chitrashala is free. Getting there is the main cost, because Bundi is about 470 km from Delhi NCR. Below are per-person budgets for three styles of trip, with every band total equal to the sum of its line items.
Assumptions
- All figures are per person, for two people sharing a room, in Indian rupees, checked in October 2026.
- Budget and mid-range plans are two nights, matching the 2-day Bundi itinerary; the premium plan is three nights with a third day out of town.
- Fuel: petrol at ₹102 to ₹112 a litre (₹102.12 in Delhi and ₹112.44 in Bundi on 13 October 2026), a car averaging 14 to 16 km per litre and about 950 km for the round trip.
- Tolls are an estimate, explained below.
- Tickets: each plan uses ₹675 per person: the ₹75 composite ticket plus the Garh Palace ticket, reported at ₹600. The palace does not publish prices online, and older listings show lower rates for Indian visitors, so this may be on the high side.
- Rooms and food are typical price ranges, not quotes. They rise around Diwali, Christmas and New Year.
Budget plan: ₹3,855 to ₹5,375 per person
Sleeper class on the train, a simple guesthouse, walking around town and eating in the bazaar.
- Train, sleeper class, Delhi–Bundi return: ₹680 to ₹800. Sleeper is listed at ₹340 each way on the Mewar Express; the upper figure allows for booking charges.
- Station transfers and autos in town: ₹300 to ₹500.
- Guesthouse: ₹1,000 to ₹1,600 a night for a double; two nights shared by two: ₹1,000 to ₹1,600.
- Food: ₹400 to ₹600 a day for about two and a half days: ₹1,000 to ₹1,500.
- Tickets: ₹675.
- Water, snacks and tips: ₹200 to ₹300.
- Total: ₹3,855 to ₹5,375.
Mid-range plan: ₹7,475 to ₹10,475 per person
A self-drive car shared by four, a good haveli with a rooftop, a palace guide and restaurant meals.
- Car fuel and tolls, round trip: fuel ₹6,000 to ₹7,600 plus tolls ₹1,400 to ₹2,000, so ₹7,400 to ₹9,600 per car; split four ways: ₹1,850 to ₹2,400.
- Haveli room: ₹2,500 to ₹4,000 a night for a double; two nights shared by two: ₹2,500 to ₹4,000.
- Food: ₹700 to ₹1,000 a day for about two and a half days: ₹1,750 to ₹2,500.
- Tickets: ₹675.
- Palace guide: Lonely Planet quotes ₹700 for half a day plus ₹100 guide entry, ₹800 per group; shared by two: ₹400.
- Autos, parking and tips: ₹300 to ₹500.
- Total: ₹7,475 to ₹10,475.
Instead of the car share, AC 3-tier on the Mewar Express is listed at ₹855 each way, about ₹1,710 return. That is a little less than the car share and saves you nine hours of driving each way. Add station transfers if you take the train.
How the toll estimate is worked out
On the NH48 and Jaipur–Tonk–Deoli route, the Delhi to Jaipur section has three main plazas: Kherki Daula (₹80 for a car with FASTag as of April 2025) and Manoharpur plus Shahjahanpur (₹395 one way combined from July 2026). That makes about ₹475 one way, or ₹950 for the round trip. Beyond Jaipur, the Jaipur–Deoli highway has the Barkheda and Sonwa plazas, plus any plazas between Deoli and Bundi. Their current rates could not be confirmed, so we estimate ₹225 to ₹525 each way for this stretch. That gives a round-trip total of roughly ₹1,400 to ₹2,000 for a car. Check an online toll calculator for your exact route before you leave. The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway charges by distance and will give a different figure.
Other ways to travel
- Motorcycle, two-up: 950 km at 30 to 35 km a litre is about 27 to 32 litres, or ₹2,800 to ₹3,600 at current prices; that is ₹1,400 to ₹1,800 each. Two-wheelers do not pay national highway tolls, but they are not allowed on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway.
- AC 2-tier: listed at ₹1,190 each way between Bundi and Delhi on the Mewar Express.
- Work out your own figures with the fuel calculator and the trip budget calculator.

Costs people forget
- The arrival-night room if you take the Mewar Express, which is scheduled into Bundi at 1.28 am. You need the room from that night.
- A late checkout if you leave on the 11.20 pm train back to Delhi.
- An extra night if you arrive late in the afternoon. The Chitrashala's listed hours may end at 5 pm, so a late arrival can push the palace to the next day.
- Safari guide charges at Ramgarh Vishdhari, reported as extra to the booking fee.
- Camera fees and guide tips at the palace.
Ways to keep it down
- Take the train and a guesthouse; that is the cheapest combination.
- Stay in the old town and walk; the Garh Palace and Chitrashala, Nawal Sagar and the Blue Town, Raniji ki Baori and the bazaar are all close together.
- Buy the composite ticket once and use it across two days.
- Eat breakfast and lunch in the bazaar and save rooftop restaurants for dinner.
- Share a car four ways if you drive.
